The Return plot

Royds wants to buy a property that has been vacant for twenty years and has a sinister past. He insists on spending the night in the master bedroom. He dies of fright during a seemingly lonely nighttime vigil. It turns out he was the original owner of the house, who murdered his wife twenty years earlier.
