Pentagram plot
"An offering must be made... in order to be free."
A group of young people takes shelter in an abandoned house. They must somehow survive the night when they get trapped in a pentagram (a five-pointed star). Staying inside the candle-lit fence means safety. However, escaping means certain death at the hands of a mysterious entity.

This is sooo bad. I actually have no words for it.
They should show this at a film academy or something. With the warning that if you dare to hand in such rubbish, you'll be kicked straight out of school....
77 minutes of completely nonsensical rambling in a circle, and the same 'monster' three times, pasted onto the screen for 3 seconds, 1-to-1 from a Hellraiser film.
My grandmother with dentures is even more terrifying....

Absolutely... when you turn off the movie. The most beautiful plot twist you could wish for.

Better to swallow than expected, provided you take into account the fact that director Steve Lawson remains an absolute pulp name and makes little effort to put grand things on screen. Pentagram benefits mainly from the fact that it maintains exactly the right scale for the budget it works with. A group of friends gets trapped inside the figure of the same name, and from that point on, enough happens to keep it from getting boring. The animated effects are abysmal and it never manages to get very exciting, but it doesn't drag on too long and the acting is decent. A bit of a shame about the atmosphere otherwise and Lawson's unexperimental approach.
