I Curse This Land plot

"Small villages hold big secrets."

In a sleepy coastal village, an ancient curse waits to be awakened. Centuries ago, a smuggler was betrayed by a fellow villager, apprehended by customs officers, and hanged as a deterrent. His widow, a woman with knowledge of ancient magic, was hunted down by the villagers and mistaken for a witch. Before dying, she uttered a deadly curse: that no life or love would ever again flourish on this land, and sealed it with her own blood.
