Dark Paradox plot

Barry is a Canadian writer who unknowingly gets his hands on the Nefastus encyclopedia. The book is the source of an ancient, unearthly evil and it inspires Barry to write increasingly gory and horrific stories for his mysterious publisher. As his work becomes increasingly violent, he notices that all kinds of sadistic events are happening around him. In an attempt to escape the violence, he flees to the countryside.
