Confinement plot
The widowed and pregnant Stella accepts an invitation to stay with her late husband's estranged family at their remote estate. However, she soon becomes increasingly worried about their interest in her unborn child. As the walls close in on her and paranoia takes over, Stella fights to protect herself and her baby from a terrifying fate.

Not too bad for a B-movie. In fact, I actually thought it was quite good. The story is nice and the acting is passable. Don't expect horror, it leans more towards a thriller, but I found it reasonably entertaining. A barely passing grade.

A television-style thriller film in which the premise is given away a little too simply. Director Peter Howitt clings too obviously to clichés such as the crazy grandma, which by now have become truly repetitive to make an impression. Moreover, Nathalie Emmanuel's tentative, nervous acting is all too familiar, meaning she cannot count on much empathy from the viewer. Furthermore, Howitt's visual style is unremarkable, meaning Confinement cannot escape a bare impression. A number of montages are engaging, but overall, the camerawork, use of color, and cinematography are quite disappointing. Fortunately, the pace picks up in the finale, in which a number of nasty images and a solid ending liven things up a bit.
