"The horror is closer than you think"

The Draymen Estate is an area where even the police stay far away. It's that dangerous there. However, a group of filmmakers investigate and decide to shoot a documentary in the area. They hope that this will explain the high number of deaths. But one of the filmmakers is carrying a terrible secret.

Nice!

What seems to be yet another found footage in the first 5 minutes slowly turns into a fairly disturbed horror film. There are some fake documentary images in it, but also just traditional camera work, so know what you're getting into.

Furthermore, Ford handles the characters quite well. Not the first time that a British film has dealt with the underbelly of society, but "the community" in this film seems to be on an evolutionary decline. Beastly and crazy people, depicted with a great sense of humor and freak.

It's a shame that the film comes to a standstill a little bit in the last fifteen minutes. Where Ford should have finished, he ends up a little too soft. The first hour remains thoroughly enjoyable, nicely structured, great characters and a traditionally run-down British atmosphere.

3.5*

Strange horror film that benefits from solid acting. Director Jason Ford plants his film in the middle of the world of strange Brits, guaranteeing some dry humor. It works, but the entire horror story through it has little effect. Towards the end, the relatively short playing time becomes increasingly tiring and the heavier scenes can no longer hold up. It's not all that shocking, the violence is more or less kept to a minimum. Still, the first 50 minutes have enough absurd situations and unusual characters to make it easy to look away, but afterwards I didn't get the impression that I would remember the events for long. Bonus points because I laughed a few times.
