The not very original plot bears strong similarities to "Swamp Shark," also a Syfy film. The acting is mediocre, even from the two nice ladies in the lead roles. The special effects were OK for the limited budget. Ultimately, I found "Swamp Shark" more entertaining/funnier.

Haha, it's hilarious. The CGI is at times among the worst I've ever seen and the villains acted very amateurishly (especially that one who stayed sitting in the pickup at the end). Still cool though how a few and the crocodino met their demise. 
Although on the other hand, it was a bit stupid that the rescue came from a character who was only talked about and whom we never saw before in the movie. I think this is the biggest no-go.
I found Swamp Shark slightly better, in any case; I even gave it 2 stars.
There are still 2 fun movie references in this film:
- Free Willy: when the crocodino jumps over the heads of characters.
- Apocalpyse Now: "I love the smell of fresh gator bait in the morning."
