Young actress Carole Beaumont is knocked unconscious by a bomb explosion in the London Blitz. In her confused state, she dreams that she is Nell Gwyn, King Charles' mistress. When she regains consciousness, her doctor advises her to rest in the countryside. The handsome Albert Gutmann asks his grandmother, Lady Drayton, to invite Carole to their family home in Windsor. Some time later, Carole arrives at Windsor Castle and now she sees herself as Queen Victoria and Albert as Prince Albert...
