Biriken plot

Biriken is a 1908 American-designed statue in the Shinsekai neighborhood of Osaka. After rubbing his feet, and putting down some money, your wish seems to come true. Shinsekai is no longer sure of its existence when a group of property developers propose to throw the district, and with it the Tsutenkaku tower, to the ground. All this from the point of view of the possible 2004 Olympic Games in the city. The director of Tsutenkaku (Ittoku Kishibe) throws in some absurd strategies to thwart the whole plan. Then he tries to revive the tower's popularity by restoring the Biriken statue after it was once removed. But Biriken causes a stir when it makes even the most ridiculous wishes come true…
