Ivan da Mariya plot

A foreign prince arrives at the court of the Tsar and asks for the hand of Princess Agrafina. To everyone's horror, a robber suddenly appears, along with three servants and an evil witch. The prince is cast away and the shocked Tsar asks the soldier Iwan (Bortnik) to chase the robbers away. He beats the servants in a riddle contest and gets the princess as a reward. This poses a problem because he actually wants to marry his real love, girlfriend Marja (Piskunova).
