"Love, it's a woman's way to her own destiny"

Rosemarie is a hardworking young woman living in a small English town in the 1950s. During the war she left Austria with her father to escape the oppression of the Nazis. Despite the poverty and loneliness, she has always believed in better times. When she meets Anton, one of her father's friends, she falls in love instantly and begins to believe in a happy life with him. Against all odds, perhaps their secret affair will help her find out where she really belongs.
