Walker Payne plot
The story is set in a 1957 Illinois mining town. Walker is the local womanizer who loses his job when the mine has to be closed. His only support are his two daughters. However, his ex-wife wants to leave town and makes Walker an offer, the daughters in exchange for a sum of money. Walker gets help from an unexpected source when the cunning Syrus enters the town, giving Walker a chance to make a lot of money.
