Unter der Sonne plot

August 1984, a sweltering summer. The Summer Olympics are taking place in Los Angeles, Ronald Reagan jokes that the US will soon bomb the USSR and the famine in Africa reaches its lowest point when 20,000 children die every day in Ethiopia alone. These events pass by 12-year-old Viktor. He has other things to worry about. Again he is 'delivered' by his parents to his aunt to spend the holidays. His 15-year-old niece, whom he is secretly in love with, doesn't like him. And then there's the neighbor's vicious dog, who attacked him several years ago. Without that event from the past, that terrible event back then at the bridge might never have happened. A forgotten event that will resurface this summer.
