Unsilenced plot

Wang, a university student in Beijing, and his friends have carefree days. This is shattered by the 1999 order banning the spiritual practice of Falun Gong in China. As the state spreads lies and ruthlessly suppresses dissenters, they cross paths with Daniel, a cynical American reporter who struggles to make sense of his profession in the country he loves. At the risk of imprisonment, torture and even death, they all face a choice: follow their conscience and speak the truth, or remain silent when heinous crimes take place behind closed doors.
