"How much shall you need to sacrifice for your dream?"
Estonia, 1870. Young Andres and his wife Krõõt arrive at their new farm, bought with borrowed money, where they have to build their new life. The desolate and heavy land will have to be transformed into a livable place that can support the family. Transforming the country, trying to get the neighbor to help and having a son and heir will have to lead to a successful family life. However, the country turns out to be extremely difficult, the neighbor a fierce rival and his wife keeps on giving birth to daughters.
