The Trip to Bountiful plot
Reluctantly, Carrie Watts lives with her oversensitive son Ludie and Jessie Mae, her soon-to-be daughter-in-law and Ludie's girlfriend. Since it is no longer possible for her to travel alone, she asks her son to take her to her hometown of Bountiful. However, when he refuses, she chooses to go out alone. When Ludie and Jessie find out, they try to call law enforcement, but Mrs. Watts got ahead of them and will be assisted by the local sheriff on her journey.
