The Strip Tease Murder Case plot

At the Runway Club striptease venue on New York's infamous 52nd Street, Joan Castle and her boyfriend Johnny, both singers at the club, argue over her contacts with mobster Vince Armstrong. Joan begs Johnny to trust her, but when Vince arrives at the club and tells him there should be "no hard feelings" between them despite both wanting the same girl, Johnny's jealousy takes hold. While Vince watches one of the many striptease acts at the club, Johnny goes backstage and asks Joan what's going on between her and Vince. Reluctantly, Joan tells him that Vince is blackmailing her brother.
