The Optimists plot
"Meet Sam, the wonder man. He's got madness in his closet, everybody in trouble, the police in circles - and the world in his pocket."
Once a successful music-hall act, Sam tries to make ends meet as a London street performer. With his unusual outlook on life, he stirs the imagination of two children from a poor working-class family, much to the dismay of their father, who has time alone for his factory work.
