The Last Performance plot

Erik the Great, an illusionist and hypnotist, is in love with his assistant Julie. He wants to marry her when she turns 18. But Julie finds Mark, a bum who has taken Erik under his wing, much more interesting. Erik gets wind of this and lets the trick with the seven swords in the box fail.
