The Future plot
Sophie (Miranda July) and Jason (Hamish Linklater), a married couple in their thirties, live together in their happy, dreamy, hipster-esque and poetic world. One day, while walking through a craft bazaar, they buy the portrait of a little girl painted by her own father. For reasons that she can't place herself, Sophie begins to stalk and follow the girl's father, despite being her polar opposite, to her liking. And the deeper her interference in his life becomes, the more her and Jason's life is turned upside down, and their relationship is tested.
