The Devil plot

The devil, cloaked in the guise of a human named Dr. Muller, meets a young couple, Marie and her fiancé, who, upon viewing a Renaissance painting of a martyr, remark that evil could never triumph over good. The devil takes this as a challenge and decides to bring about the couple's downfall. In the end, Marie resorts to the power of prayer to battle the devil.
