The Dark Wind plot
"The Navajo believe that when a man does something evil, it is because a dark wind has entered his soul."
In the Arizona reservation, which was divided between the Navajos and Hopis, the mutilated body of a Navajo Indian and a crashed plane with two dead coke smugglers are found. Jim Chee, a Navajo police officer on the reservation, is charged with the case. He quarrels with Gail Pauling, the young widow of one of the smugglers, who comes to demand justice.
