The Cloud plot

Shortly after the widowed Mrs. Gloria Dixon agrees to marry Aaron Lathrop, she is killed and he is seriously injured in a car accident. When Gloria, Mrs. Dixon's daughter, learns of this, she leaves school to care for Lathrop. He dies after leaving his fortune to Gloria and leaving his nephew Burton nothing. The angry Burton, claiming that Gloria used fraud and undue influence to write herself into the will, blackmails her by revealing a package of letters to his father from "Gloria D." that hint at sexual misconduct.
