Lady Cathy is the wife of the famous lawyer and workaholic Sir Brian Brooke. Neglected by her husband, Lady Cathy begins an extramarital affair with Michael Barcleigh, a young and charming man on the island of Capri. Meanwhile, Monica, Lady Cathy's daughter from a previous marriage, is also in love with Michael. Monica and Lady Cathy's lives seem to change dramatically when Sir Brian falls seriously ill.
