On the 29th of each month, when the money runs out, Catherine has to talk to her alcoholic mother about the harrowing problems so she doesn't end up in an abyss. Catherine is quite familiar with bad decisions and dreams of being successful. Tammy, her mother, has been so poor for a long time. She can only party when money comes in. When Tammy is diagnosed with terminal cancer, Catherine is forced to move in and care for her.
