Stenata plot
Hana and Marie have just graduated as nurses in Prague and are each stationed in a separate town elsewhere in Czechoslovakia. However, the girls do not want to leave the capital and devise ways to escape their fate. Marie stages a suicide attempt and Hana prematurely marries her boyfriend Ota to get the health ministry in Prague to appoint them as a nurse.
