Single Wives plot
As the anniversary of her first year of marriage approaches, Betty Jordan realizes she is estranged from her husband. After numerous failed attempts to rekindle their relationship, she decides to rekindle her friendship with her former suitor Martin Prayle. Betty's mother Dorothy Van Clark has had enough of her husband Tom's womanizing and hooks up with her longtime admirer Franklin Dexter. Dorothy and Franklin run away together and go to a hotel where Dorothy falls ill. Betty doesn't want to end up like her mother and wants to file for divorce.
