September plot

In the Irish town of Strathcroy, wealthy Verena Steynton (Judy Parfitt) plans to celebrate her daughter's 21st birthday with a chic ball. She invites everyone she can think of. Among those invited is Pandora (Jacqueline Bisset), who is terminally ill. Pandora left her hometown twenty years earlier to join the international jet set. Her return provokes a lot of emotions. How fierce these flare up becomes clear when the next morning the corpse of Pandora is fished out of the water.
