Seong Chunhyang plot

Chun-Hyang, the daughter of a local female entertainer, and Lee Mong-nyong, whose father is the governor of Namwon Province, fall in love and promise to get married. However, Lee is soon forced to follow his father to the capital, and the new governor Byeon Hakdo is said to want the beautiful Chun-Hyang for himself. Chun-Hyang categorically rejects Byeon when he asks her to share the bed with him. She is tortured and thrown in jail for this. Meanwhile, Lee has passed an important state exam and is assigned as an undercover agent for the king, with the goal of tracking crime and corruption.
