Ralph Payne is an FBI agent assigned by the government to keep an eye on a scientist who is on a ski vacation in the mountains. When the scientist returns to his cabin after a day of skiing, he catches his assistant Ted Noland photographing his private papers. A fierce battle breaks out and the scientist is killed. Noland, a spy for the Communists, loads the corpse into his car and then drives to a hilltop to make it look like an accident. Payne isn't happy about this because he was flirting with blonde Donna Weeks at the bar during the murder spree. Donna and her sister Peggy had just arrived at the ski resort. Peggy turns out to have seen Noland loading the scientist's dead body and plans to blackmail him. Noland then consults his superiors and he pays $10,000 in blackmail money. But when Peggy thinks she's rid of Noland, it turns out she's wrong.
