Satokibi Batake no Uta plot

Koichi Hirayama and his wife Michiko have moved from Osaka to Okinawa, where they live happily with their five children. When war breaks out, the eldest son has to join the army, the so-called 'Imperial Army'. Meanwhile, the family flees to another city. Yet they cannot avoid giving more children to the army and one by one they leave their home.
