Europe, 2041. After stabilizing the first refugee crisis, which was accompanied by a number of terrorist attacks, all citizens of the Free European Federation, using new technology, were given the right to reparation in the event of an unnatural death. In this society, where people can come back from the dead once, murder is virtually impossible. Yet the young, ambitious detective Emma Trochinowska has to solve the murder of a married couple. The restoration team manages to revive only one of them. Together they try to track down the killer and find out if a second chance in life isn't just an easy tool to exploit.
