Recompense plot
"The Price They Paid for a Few Short Hours of Forbidden Happiness!"
Pastor Peter leaves the pulpit to serve in the First World War to be near Julie, the woman he loves. They are separated, but after the war, she nurses him through a long illness. Peter refuses to marry her because it would hinder his planned humanitarian work. However, she retains her faith in him, which prompts him to return and marry her anyway.
