Pugowitza plot
Eleven-year-old, orphaned Heinrich and the old fisherman Komarek meet in 1945 on a trip. The old man at first resists taking the boy with them after the women who have joined him uninvited, but branded by the experiences of the last weeks of the war, Komarek takes responsibility for Heinrich, who is still is convinced of a final victory for Hitler's Germany.
