Playing with Fire plot

Jean Servian's vision deteriorates and she is desperate for money. She marries wealthy widower Geoffrey Vane after she tells him to settle for her gratitude rather than her love. Then, after an affair with artist Philip Derblay, who eventually leaves her, Jean settles into a quiet, dull life with Geoffrey, who knows nothing of her failed romance.
