Passing Through plot
Eddie Warmack, an African-American saxophonist, murdered a white mobster and was sentenced to prison. He is released from prison some time later. He is unwilling to play for the mafia that controls the music industry, including clubs and recording studios. He turns to his mentor and grandfather, legendary jazz musician Poppa Harris for support. However, the economic and cultural pressure of the industry does not make it easy for him.
