Pakten plot

Norwegian doctor Carl (Skjønberg), who is already getting older, collapses on the streets of Oslo. After he wakes up, he finds himself in the hospital. Much to his surprise, he is surrounded by his three old mates from the past; Ernest (Mitchum), Ted (Robertson) and August (Josephson). They take the law into their own hands and 'kidnap' their dying mate from the hospital. What follows is an emotional trip back to Heidelberg, where they met during World War II, when they were studying medicine. There they set out to fulfill Carl's dying wish, but their joyous journey is overshadowed by a nasty discovery they make.
