Oy, Vy, Gusi... plot
Raya's alcohol-addicted brothers (symbolizing the director herself) have a hard time dealing with their wives who try to fan the flames of life in their husbands. Their lives stand in stark contrast to the colorful and heroic images shown on TV from the 1980 Moscow Olympics. During this period, Sanka, one of the brothers, returns from the penal camp. When he returns, he immediately runs off with his brother Mitka's wife. Petka, the third brother, lives under the yoke of his bossy wife. Besides the drink, the brothers find comfort in the song 'Farewell Geese' that their father always played for them. When they hear this they burst into tears and think back to their childhood with nostalgia.
