Othello plot

The Moor Othello has just married Desdemona in Venice. Her father disapproved of the marriage. Othello, a general, is sent to Cyprus to defend it against the Turks. Desdemona goes with him. Othello has an assistant Cassio. Iago is terribly angry with Othello for wanting Cassio's job. Intent on revenge, he convinces Othello that Desdemona is cheating on Cassio.
