Ôte plot

The film is set in the "Shinsekai" neighborhood in the Japanese city of Osaka. The two young men Ayumu Tobita (Hidekazu Akai) and Ryuzo Kayama (Masaya Katô) are both professionals in the world of shogi, a Japanese mind game similar to chess. One day, the legendary shogi teacher Sanae Mitamura (Tomisaburo Wakayama) appears in the city with dire consequences. Before long, Tobita finds herself in a shogi duel with Mitamura.
