Nuits d'Alerte plot

Hélène, a young French waitress in a bar frequented by German officers, rescues Gilbert, a refugee who disguises himself under the costume of a Wehrmacht officer. Her jealous lover has her arrested and then released. She is injured in the street. Gilbert leaves her with friends in the hopes of flying her to England later. Unfortunately there is currently no room and Gilbert has to leave alone. It will be scary weeks for Hélène, during which she has to wait for a signal to flee to England. But the Germans continue to track her down.
