Mudville plot
Ray Patterson, a 47-year-old unemployed father, spends his days playing baseball in the neighborhood park in a desperate attempt to rejoin the Atlanta Apaches, a Major League baseball team he was formerly under contract with. His alcohol addiction, which led to his being kicked off the team, remains a daily problem. Ray is tormented by dreams about what he perceives as Native American spirits and supernatural forces seeking to bury him and his dreams. When a metaphysical event threatens Ray's existence, his family watches helplessly, while his wife, Holly, finds solace in witchcraft and the cosmic answers that tarot offers.
