Mommo plot

Ayse and Ahmet live with their grandfather Hasan. After the death of their mother, their father Kazim remarried and his new wife does not want the children. Hasan has all kinds of ailments and can't really take care of his grandchildren. His neighbor suggests that Ayse should be employed by rich people in the city, but Hasan doesn't like the idea. But then, much to his relief, his daughter Fatma from Germany writes that her sister's children can come and live with her in Germany. It seems that fate is in favor of Ayse and Ahmet and that they will not be sent to an orphanage. All their hopes are pinned on a future in Germany. But then a second letter arrives...
