Molt plot

Twelve-year-old Cadie lives in the Appalachian countryside. Summer has little to offer Cadie. Her mother mainly watches soap operas on TV and her older neighbor Sarah just wants to get a tan in the sun. When they are alone on a farm, the two girls devise a blood brother ritual, which includes a kiss. They are joined by two neighbor boys and Sarah hangs out with the boy she likes, while Cadie hangs out with the boy she is supposed to like.
