Misery Harbour plot

The young writer Espen Arnakke (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) tells the story of his escape from the small Danish town of Jante. Espen boards a ship bound for Newfoundland, but the harsh conditions on board cause him to jump aboard. He ends up in the small town of Misery Harbour. There he meets the girl of his dreams. But his passion turns to jealousy when one of the ship's men shows up in town and makes Espen's life miserable.
