Minibar plot

The Dutch Roman and the German Hanna have been living together in Berlin for a few years. Roman followed Hanna to Berlin when she was offered a job there. Together they try to build a new life. While Hanna has a distinct need for warmth, confirmation and protection, Roman seems to be increasingly alienated from her, himself and his environment. In mid-November, Roman and Hanna discuss how they will spend Christmas. Because there is no room for Roman's mother in Hanna's family, he decides to celebrate Christmas alone in Berlin.
