Mang Jing plot
Song and Tang work in one of the poorly maintained illegal mines in northern China. Chaolu, Tang's brother, arrived only a few days ago and is accompanying them for the first time. Once they're all the way down, Song and Tang beat him to death with their pickaxes. They let the mine tunnel collapse and get out of the 'accident' themselves. They simulate anger and sadness and thus blackmail the owner of the mine. He is very afraid that his illegal activities will be made public and he offers them a lot of money in exchange for their silence. Once they have the money, Song and Tang start looking for a new 'family member'. In the train station they find Yuan, a sixteen-year-old farmer's son. Song and Tang promise him a job if he pretends to be Song's cousin. But he finds it unacceptable to choose such a young victim. The two partners are diametrically opposed, and when they set out to carry out their plan, things turn out differently than expected...
