Le Silence de la Forêt plot
Gonaba is an African intellectual who has just come over from Europe. He is convinced that the Western curriculum and teaching methods are adequate means to change the Central African Republic for the better, and Western education can be used to throw off the yoke of the oppressors. To his frustration, the people of Biaka appear to see him as part of the problem, rather than the provider of a more possible solution.
