La Méridienne plot

Marthe and Marie live with François, a film operator in the only cinema in a picturesque provincial town and often free. A charming, seductive man, free as a butterfly, he vainly pursues all the women he meets during his wanderings. Meanwhile, Marie has him followed by a detective, not because she is jealous, but to amuse herself by reading his so-called psychological reports.
