Kolp plot

Germany after World War II. In an idyllic village in Odenwald, schoolboy Hans Kolp mourns for a while after Jack, a colored American officer, was billeted in his parental home. Jack was his friend, went hunting with him, taught him English and actually let Hans drive his jeep. When Jack returns to his homeland, he leaves a uniform and a revolver for his friend as a parting gift. Hans recognizes the opportunity of a lifetime in this: dressed as an American officer, he is dragged into a smuggling business with stolen American goods. What starts as a risky game soon becomes a harsh reality. Hans Kolp, the 'American lieutenant' slips further and further into underground life. Even his first great love can't save him...
